Our Commitment to Ethical Journalism
- Compliance with Laws: Dainikhindi.in adheres to all applicable laws of India, including the Constitution, over 30 media-related laws, provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Information Technology Act, 2000. We ensure our content respects legal frameworks such as The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, Copyright Act, and laws related to defamation, privacy, and intellectual property rights.
- Journalistic Integrity: We maintain rigorous self-regulatory practices to uphold accepted norms of journalistic ethics. Our team of journalists and editors follows strict processes to ensure accuracy, transparency, and fairness in all content. We avoid publishing inaccurate, baseless, or distorted material and conduct mandatory pre-publication verification to prevent defamation.
- Right to Reply: We strive to include comments or perspectives from individuals or parties mentioned in our reports, particularly when allegations are involved. If a response is received post-publication, it will be incorporated promptly. We also commit to updating stories when new developments arise, ensuring fairness and balance.
- Handling Inaccuracies: If a news report or article is found to contain false or inaccurate information, we will edit or delete the content upon verification by the concerned party, provided they supply correct information and necessary documentation. If an entire article is inaccurate, it will be removed.
- Respect for Intellectual Property: Dainikhindi.in respects copyrights in text, images, diagrams, and other materials. We obtain prior permission for copyrighted content, acknowledge ownership rights, and pay required fees or royalties. Trademarks and service marks are used only with permission or under fair use provisions.
- Sensitive Reporting: We exercise special care when reporting on communal or religious disputes, ensuring facts are verified and presented with restraint to promote harmony, amity, and peace. Similarly, we approach court and judicial matters with accuracy, covering versions of both victims and accused without commentary, and respect the privacy of individuals, especially those not in public life.
- Training and Awareness: Our editorial team undergoes periodic training on media laws, including those related to defamation, privacy, juvenile justice, POCSO, and reporting on sensitive issues like gender-based crimes or communal clashes. This ensures our staff is well-equipped to maintain ethical standards.
- Grievance Redressal: As per the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2011, we have appointed a Grievance Officer whose contact details are available on our website. Complaints are acknowledged within 36 hours and resolved within one month, ensuring transparency and accountability.
